Proaction vs. Chevin FleetWave: Workflows and Fleet Programs

Chevin FleetWave and Proaction both support configurable fleet workflows. FleetWave is worth evaluating when your team wants configurable fleet information, integrations and administrative tools, with Advanced adding workshop and inventory capabilities. Proaction is worth evaluating when you also want a team to perform selected shop, driver and fleet-program coordination.

Configurability is shared ground. The useful distinction is what happens when the workflow requires a person to call a provider, obtain a decision or resolve an invoice. Compare both the configuration and the operating responsibilities in the proposed package. FleetWave editions, Proaction platform.

FleetWave entries reflect Chevin's pricing page, Smart Integrate and Value Loop. This comparison focuses on Core and Advanced. Proaction entries describe our platform and optional programs.

Configure the work and its owner

A serious vehicle issue may need a different response from a routine service request. Proaction's forms can capture the vehicle, driver, location and supporting photos. Configured rules can route the request into service work or to the fleet for review, with the fleet defining assignments and approval requirements. Proaction platform.

The workflow can also start with scheduled care. Proaction tracks preventive maintenance intervals and service due dates, with manager and driver notifications. Your team can arrange the service or delegate the coordination to Proaction.

For delegated maintenance, provider instructions carry the fleet's preferred locations and applicable account or rate information. Proaction coordinates with the shop and driver, reviews the estimate, obtains required approvals, follows progress, checks the invoice and arranges payment. The operating scope determines which tasks your team retains. Proaction maintenance program.

That ownership question matters when an estimate uses the wrong rate or a shop misses an update. Show the exception in the demonstration: who receives it, who contacts the provider and what decision returns to the fleet? The answer should be clear in the proposed service scope.

Match the FleetWave edition to your requirements

Chevin's US and Canada pricing page reviewed September 9, 2026 lists Core at $5 per vehicle per month and Advanced by quote. Advanced adds workshop, inventory and technician tools. An internal-shop comparison should therefore use the applicable Advanced proposal, not assume the $5 Core price covers that scope. FleetWave pricing.

The FAQ describes three-year contracts for Core and Advanced. It defines a vehicle as a self-powered asset and identifies trailers as ancillary equipment, priced at $0.50 per item per month. Account asset counts are reflected in the annual invoice. Build both proposals from the same roster and confirm current terms, including the treatment of acquisitions, disposals and seasonal assets. FleetWave pricing.

Test the integration and the exception together

Chevin describes Smart Integrate as a visual tool for creating, testing and scheduling connections. Published examples include maintenance providers, telematics, fuel, finance and ERP systems. These categories are useful starting points, not a substitute for validating a particular connection. Smart Integrate.

Bring one supplier invoice, approval process and retained system to the evaluation. Ask each vendor to show what data moves, how failed or incomplete updates are handled, and who maintains the connection. Then identify who performs the provider follow-up. Review Proaction's integration options against those requirements.

If you are also evaluating whether to retain an enterprise fleet system while delegating work, the FleetFocus comparison addresses record ownership and implementation planning.

Proaction pricing and monthly funding

Proaction charges a per-asset monthly platform fee. Fleet Programs carry a fee calculated on transaction value. Your proposal specifies the fee rate and calculation basis, and the underlying service payment and Proaction fee are separately visible. Proaction pricing.

Retain preferred providers and negotiated rates, or ask Proaction to coordinate a U.S. shop that can service the asset and accept payment. Without a negotiated rate, the shop's standard rate applies. There is no additional out-of-network surcharge; the applicable Fleet Program fee still applies.

Expected monthly program spend is estimated together and prepaid. If actual spending is higher, the overage is invoiced. Unused credits carry into the following month. Compare the software scope, operating fees and funding arrangement together.

Frequently asked questions

Is configurability unique to Proaction?

No. FleetWave also offers configuration and integration tools. Compare the workflow each product can demonstrate, then separately decide whether to delegate the people-dependent steps. Smart Integrate.

Which FleetWave edition should an internal shop evaluate?

Advanced adds workshop, stock/inventory and the technician app. Confirm the complete scope and price with Chevin rather than using the Core starting price as an equivalent shop-system quote. FleetWave pricing.

Does Chevin offer ongoing expert help?

Yes. Value Loop describes recurring product-expert access, including a free 30-minute session available every two weeks, plus training and consultation at customer events. Those are useful services; compare any required shop or driver execution separately. Value Loop.

What can Proaction's team take over?

For selected Fleet Programs, Proaction can coordinate maintenance providers and drivers, handle approval handoffs, follow repairs and arrange payment. Other available programs include registration, transports, tolls and citations. Agree the scope and fees in the proposal.

Explore Proaction with your workflow. Bring a supplier invoice and a recurring exception, then identify the configuration, decisions and execution each team would own.
